The Bristol Impact Fund (BIF2) and Our Vision for the Next Four Years
In August 2021 we heard from Bristol City Council that our Bristol Impact Fund (BIF) application had been successful. This is great news as it will provides us with stability over the next four years.
We can now continue with our established work and develop new and exciting services, which reflects our underlying philosophy of challenging ageism, and placing older people at the heart of policy and decision-making.
Our projects include:
BOPF Advisory Group
The BOPF Advisory Group is an important new initiative. This sees us having a more formal role with Bristol City Council, advising them on good practice around age. It will also ensure that older people are centrally involved with the development of services. The framework for this is based on Bristol as a designated Age Friendly City.
Our long standing BOPF Open Forum Meetings, open to members, supporters and other organisations working for the benefit of older people.
An important ongoing piece of work, our Challenging Ageism Workshops. These explore the effects of age discrimination, ageist stereotyping and much more.
We will also continue to publish regular on-line and paper copies of the popular BOPF Newsletter.
Our BOPF MeetUp Mornings, with guest speakers to discuss a range of topic, will be continuing every month.
BOPF Digital Champions
A new project called the BOPF Digital Champions, to enable more older people to feel confident about getting on-line.
